Welcome to the XamXam website.XamXam
started in 2007 with the album HamHam recorded in The
Gambia (available from Amazon and iTunes)
For the next year and a half Musa Mboob and Ousman Beyai worked on putting together a live band to continue developing the new West African music that came from the first album.
By the summer of 2008 the band had stabilised and we started work on creating the ultimate live set. In October we put on a showcase event at the
Sallis Benney Theatre in Brighton (see the videos on YouTube). The
audience loved the music and everyone was dancing the whole night long.
We are currently recording a new album to be released this spring and will then be touring all round Europe and West Africa. |
