"The music of Kiyomori, the latest sonic sculptors from that hotbed of musical vibrancy- Brighton, is focused, edgy, melodic and soulful. It sticks to the brain's hippocampus like Rowntree's Fruit Gums to teeth- and Kiyomori's visceral techy prog-punk is just as hard to shift. You'll retaste those Bowie-esque vocals days, weeks even months after that first listen... and you'll like it! Whereas today's traditional fodder is like Dairy Milk, Kiyomori's heavily textured, sample infused fabric is more like 74% Cocoa, without all that powdered milk shit!
A mixture of zingy guitars, fat Hammond organs, contorted breaks, theatrical vocals and a sample bank straight out of the soundtrack to Philip K Dick's life, Kiyomori's unique sound powers through convention's brick walls, taking influence from an eclectic mix of genres.
The band's latest track, "Not Scared of You" gives a nod to Peter Gunn's classic theme, but wraps it in a barbed shadow of mechanical genius, not to be missed. Another of Kiyomori's singles "Once Upon a Time", with its stilted beats and saw tooth guitars, will give your head more than enough to bang about, with Adam's puissant vocals offering your banging head's mouth food for thought! This is a band to be heard.
